Good morning and welcome to COVID Communiqué 6. Although a great deal is happening around reopening Ontario this week, we have to ask you to wait a little longer for more details on what to look forward to in the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa. This is likely to be confusing — and ultimately, disappointing — news, particularly for parishioners. Many will have heard, in a general way, that churches are reopening, but not understood that opening remains at the discretion of each denomination or, in some cases, individual houses of worship.

Please, continue to make it clear to all that our Ontario and West Quebec Anglican churches remain closed for the time being. You’ll find the detailed information on the closures here: https://bit.ly/3ec6Tcs
Rest assured, however, that you’ll be alerted to any changes at all in how Anglican churches in the Diocese of Ottawa operate through your COVID Communiqué newsletter — your one official source of information for all COVID-related church matters.That said, we expect to release a reopening plan soon, so stay tuned. Beyond that, there is only one change to our COVID pages this week — an update to the Day-to-Day Operations pages. Until the new Executive Archdeacon, the Reverend Canon Linda Hill, assumes her position on July 6, operations and property issues should be addressed to the Director of Financial Ministry, Sanjay Grover (sanjay-grover@ottawa.anglican.ca).
