The Community of the Cross of Nails (CCN) is a Christian network of over 260 churches, schools, chaplaincies and retreat centres who, drawn together by the story of Coventry Cathedral, share a common commitment to work and pray for peace, justice and reconciliation through: healing the wounds of history; learning to live with difference and celebrate diversity; building a culture of justice and peace. As a network of ordinary people, we work to seek peace and pursue it in our relationships.
Christ Church Cathedral became a partner and was presented with a Cross of Nails in 2017 for our work in reconciliation with indigenous peoples. It may be found on the pillar in the Chapel of Reconciliation. In September every year, one Sunday is set aside for all worship communities involved with the CCN to pray together, to reconnect our communities with why the CCN matters, why Coventry still inspires, and where our own stories connect.
For more information about the Community of the Cross of Nails, please visit the CCN website. And if you are interested in our participation or in making a visit to Coventry, please contact the Dean.
