Hello and welcome to COVID Communiqué 53. Yesterday’s announcement outlining progressive opening in Quebec brings a welcome note of hope to the pandemic weary — which is, it seems safe to say, all of us. Some restrictions were lifted this week, when the Quebec parts of our diocese moved from special emergency measures to red zone restrictions; the rest are to come online gradually over the next few weeks. You can check this Quebec government web page for precise details on restrictions in place for your municipality — but note it only has details for the stage we’re in now. You can check what green zone restrictions, expected to be in place at the end of June, will look like here. (As of this morning, this page had not yet been translated to English).
Last week, as expected, Ontario extended the stay-at-home order until June 2; case rates will determine what follows. We’ll be updating you on diocesan plans in the coming weeks; for now, however, our entire diocese continues to operate in Red stage protocols. In the meanwhile, if you have questions, please contact the helpdesk: C19helpdesk@ottawa.anglican.ca.
