Girls and Boys Choirs Having Fun

Girls and Boys Choirs Having Fun

On a break from rehearsing

Our choirs are gearing up for all the wonderful services and events that will occur in November and December, and last weekend the Girls and Boys had a rehearsal on Sunday in lieu of Hallow'een night. Canon Doug made Frankenstein Rice Krispy Squares to keep them fuelled and a fresh air break under the fall leaves filled their lungs!

ADOy

ADOy

Youth meet at and are greeted by our Cathedral

ADOy (Anglican Diocese of Ottawa youth) is a new initiative to gather and connect youth from around our diocese. Anchored by our Cathedral and animated by our Dean, the first event was a Meet and Greet on Saturday, October 19th. Youth from seven parishes were present and much fun was had in weaving connections, worshipping and learning new music, eating freshly baked cookies and a delicious lunch, hearing about the significance of our Cathedral, going an on in-depth tour, and ringing the bell. Thanks to all the clergy and leaders who helped make it a successful day!

Diocesan Time of Prayer
Almighty God, you have built your Church upon the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone. Grant that, by the operation of the Holy Spirit, we your followers may be joined together in unity and peace, and that we may be a holy temple acceptable to you. We pray that as we, and others, plant seeds and bring water, you will bless our efforts and bring forth a bountiful harvest. May your hand be upon every seed that is sown and every drop of water that is poured. We trust in your faithfulness to bring growth and abundance in all areas of our lives and the lives of our parishes. Thank you for providing the inspiration and means for fulfilling your promises. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A Prayer for Peace
O God of all justice and peace, we cry out to you in the midst of the pain and trauma of violence and fear which prevails in the Holy Land. Be with those who need you in these days of suffering; we pray for people of all faiths - Jews, Muslims, Christians, and for all people of the land. While we pray to you, O Lord, for an end to the violence and the establishment of peace, we also call for you to bring justice and equity to the peoples. Guide us into your kingdom where all people are treated with dignity and honour as your children for, to all of us, you are our Heavenly Father. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Our Clergy and the Cathedral Prayer Team will pray for all requests sent to info@ottawacathedral.ca during the week.
