O Antiphons
The O Antiphons, sung in ancient evening offices during mid-Advent as antiphons to the Magnificat, provide a rich source of devotional imagery, and are well known through the hymn “O come, O come, Emmanuel.” In this contemplative and gentle evening liturgy, they offer a tone of expectation and hope. “Look up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” Luke 21:28 This service will be livestreamed at: https://www.youtube.com/c/christchurchcathedralottawa

Some Fun at ChristmasFor Bishop Shane At our Diocesan Synod, it was mentioned by the Clerical Secretary that our Bishop giving assent to the proceedings evokes thoughts of a bobblehead... so our Diocesan Senior Staff decided that this would be a perfect Christmas gift. It is a remarkably accurate likeness and thankfully, Bishop Shane has a great sense of humour! With thanks to Penny Armstrong who created the mini mitre, little pectoral cross, and wee Brother Thankful crozier. |
