Maundy ThursdayChoral Eucharist with Stripping of the Altar at 7 pm The Right Reverend Dr. Shane Parker will celebrate, and The Reverend Bob Albert will preach on this night that captures both the self-sacrificial love of the Last Supper as well as the shocking betrayal and abandonment that followed. Sung by the Cathedral Lay Clerks and Choral Scholars, it is one of the few opportunities anywhere in this country to hear Arvo Part’s “Beatitudes” in this devastatingly affective context. Readings: Exodus 12:1-4, 11-14; Psalm 116:1, 10-17; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26; John 13:1-17, 31b-35. |

Musical Meditation for Good FridayAt 3 pm It is something of a minor tradition at the Cathedral for a setting of the Stabat Mater to be sung on the afternoon of Good Friday – a devotional and solemn musical offering in the shadow of the Cross. This year, Andrew McAnerney will direct our Lay Clerks and Choral Scholars accompanied by Cathedral Organist James Calkin in Josef Rheinberger’s “Stabat Mater” Opus 138. Rheinberger (1839-1901) spent his career in Munich both at the royal court and the conservatory where he was a revered pedagogue. Restrained and elegant, this “Stabat Mater” (one of two he composed) was written in 1884 – a thank-offering for a recovery in his health. |

Together, We Can Reach Our GoalThe Canadian Campaign for St. George's College Jerusalem As we reach the end of our campaign for St. George’s College Jerusalem after Palm Sunday, the need for support remains. The situation in the region is unpredictable, and the college continues to face challenges. Your contribution helps ensure that the college can retain staff with reduced salaries and that the facilities are maintained during this difficult time. This will allow the college to be ready to welcome pilgrims again as soon as it’s safe. If you're able, it’s not too late to give a little more. Every bit helps us move closer to our goal and ensures that the small yet strong Christian community in the Diocese of Jerusalem receives the support it needs to continue its vital work in education, spiritual renewal, pilgrimage and reconciliation. Once again, thank you so much for your generosity. For more infomation visit:
